Microsoft Word Mother's Day Flyer Tutorial
This tutorial gives the illustrated step by step instructions to create a Mother's Day Flyer using the Business Application - Microsoft Word 2013.

After you've opened Step 01: Document Setup Microsoft Word 2013, you will see a huge display of available Templates. Select Blank Doucment.

Select the Page Layout Tab from the Ribbon above. From the Page Setup Group select Size.

Make sure that
Letter is selected from the drop down menu that appears.

From the same Microsoft Word 2013 Orientation Portrait
Page Setup Group you can select Orientation and verify that Portrait is highlighted.
Margins from the Page Setup Group and set to Narrow. This sets Top, Bottom, Left and Right Margins to 0.5 Inches each.

Now we are ready to work on the
Mother's Day Flyer 3.
On the Step 02: Insert Rectangle Insert Tab of the Ribbon, select the Shapes Icon from the Illustrations Group.

This opens a drop down menu with
Preformatted Shapes. Select Rectangle from either the Recently Used Shapes or Basic Shapes section.

Your cursor will change to a
Plus Sign. Holding down your mouse button, drag to draw the Rectangle on the Page.
Once you release the mouse, you will notice that the Rectangle is Blue and it is surrounded by Resiziing and Skewing Handles.
You'll also notice that the Microsoft Word 2013 Rectangle
Drawing Tools Format Tab appears.
Step 03: Resize Shape
To the far right of the Microsoft Word 2013 Size Group
Format Tab you will see the Size Group.
Here you will set the
Rectangle Height to 11 Inches and Width to 1.45 Inches.

Then drag this
Rectangle to the right side of the page.
2 more Rectangles setting their Size to Height 11 Inches and Width 1.18 Inches. Leave a little space between Rectangles.

Select the Step 04: Custom Shape Fill 1st Rectangle that was drawn. In the Format Tab select the Shape Fill Icon from the Shape Styles Group.

This will reveal a Microsoft Word 2013 More Fill Colors
Select More Fill Colors, since we wish to use a Custom Color.
This opens the
Colors Window for which the Standard Tab should be active.

You will see the
RGB Values for Red, Green and Blue. Set Red to 156, Green to 42 and Blue to 0.
You will notice that the New Color appears above the Previous Color in the bottom right corner of this Window.
Click Microsoft Word 2013 Brown Rectangle
OK and the New Color will be added to the Rectangle.
Add these Microsoft Word 2013 Rectangles Custom Fill Colors
Settings to the Remaining Rectangles.

Rectangle 3 - R 214, G 191, B 134
With Step 05: Custom Shape Outline Rectangle 1 selected, go back to the Shape Styles Group, but this time select the Shape Outline Icon.

In the Microsoft Word 2013 Recent Colors
Colors Menu you can see that there is now a Recent Colors section.
Select your Outline Color from this Recent Colors section.
Then repeat for the other
